De ChristenUnie is blij dat er een voorlopig energieakkoord ligt. Veel zaken zijn echter nog onduidelijk. Carla Dik-Faber: "Ik vraag me af of het energieakkoord de grote doorbraak is naar duurzaam en decentraal. Dat moet bij de verdere uitwerking veel sterker naar voren komen."

De ChristenUnie pleit al langer voor het sluiten van kolencentrales uit de jaren '80. Tegelijkertijd worden nu ook weer nieuwe kolencentrales gebouwd, daar zitten we de komende decennia mee opgescheept. Carla Dik-Faber: "De kolenbelasting wordt afgeschaft, maar dat is verre van gunstig voor schone vormen van energie. Zo’n maatregel werkt averechts ten opzichte van de ontwikkeling van wind- en zonne-energie."

Ook subsidie van biomassabijstook in kolencentrales is onderdeel van het akkoord. "Op deze manier wordt belastinggeld van burgers en bedrijven gestoken in een techniek die niet innovatief en houdbaar is. Dit geld kunnen we beter inzetten voor echt duurzame vormen van energie", aldus Dik-Faber.
